In this collection of paintings, Nostos, Georgie loosely draws upon the epic poem to centre the feminine into a grand narrative.

Georgie reimagines a journey for honour, the fight for good over evil, divine intervention and the idealisation of homecoming (nostos) from a woman’s gaze.

Although disparate in subject matter, Georgie takes inspiration from Kate Coolahan’s experimental works, which unmoor the individual – abstracting form into a dreamlike, mythical setting.

In the ethereal works of Nostos, you might catch a fleeting glimpse of a Coolahanesque assemblage, where space is a construct of lines.
